Journey to Germany! 

I am a Sri Lankan Mining Engineer. I came to Germany as a team member at GK Technical Projects Department. It was quite a decision to move to a new country with a new culture and new people. First, it felt rather challenging to adapt to the new environment learning every detail around the site. Getting to know the working culture, safety, and work ethic as well while learning to live in a new society. But it was also the beauty of the whole experience. I met new people. I had a new neighborhood. I started speaking a new language. From my first safety lesson on-site to the present day that I am handling industrial mineral process-related projects as a project leader, GK engineered the newbie in me to be a successful woman in mining. 

Coming from a third-world country I felt like I took a flight to a new universe. A universe with people full of kindness and inspiration. My GK colleagues in Germany helped me build up my confidence to be able to work hand-in-hand with them on new projects around the world. I am grateful to be a part of the project and initiate my career within AMG. My journey here was completely a dream coming true!

Working globally with AMG has been a dream come true. I am grateful for the opportunities and support I received, AMG have been with me every step of the way.
