AMG Lithium is a subsidiary and part of AMG Critical Materials N.V., a globally operating group for critical metals, mineral products and highly specialized vacuum furnace systems including related services with over 3,600 employees. AMG Lithium was founded in 2018 and is on its way to becoming the premier European lithium refiner based on its own low-cost resources in Brazil and will be the first European battery-grade lithium hydroxide producer serving the growing EU cathode material market.
AMG Lithium combines extensive Lithium expertise in Research & Development, Production, and Marketing; AMG’s Lithium segment spans the lithium value chain, starting from a reliable and secure raw material base from the mine operation in Mibra (Brazil) spodumene production with an annual capacity of 130.000 MT. The Bitterfeld based production provides an annual capacity of 20.000 MT Lithium Hydroxide Battery Grade with expansion plans to 100.000 MT over the next years.
Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, the AMG Lithium R&D team focuses on the development of high-quality lithium-containing battery components for the energy storage sector with a dedicated focus on solid state lithium batteries. The process development and engineering teams of AMG Lithium GmbH rely on more than a decade of operative expertise in the production of battery-grade lithium hydroxide.
