The guide below gives answers to key questions that you may have about the application process. This page will be updated as this programme become live and AMG employees undertake placements and transfers and we receive feedback.
If you are interested in applying for an advertised role then please use the contact us box in the AMG unit's web page on this website. Please complete the contact us form and include your latest CV and a covering letter explaining why you want to be considered. Your information will be sent to the unit's HR team for their consideration.
Please ensure that you have the qualifications and experience being requested in the advertised role.
If you are interested in doing a short term placement at a different AMG unit the first thing is to do some research about the companies in the AMG group. You will need to review what you want to get out of the exchange programme, which AMG units interest you and how your skills could be used at that AMG unit.
Once you know which unit you are interested in approaching then use the contact us box in the unit's page on this website. Please provide a copy of your latest CV and covering letter explaining what your reasons for wanting the placement are and explaining the benefits to both you and the AMG unit.
The duration of a placement would be agreed between the individual and the AMG unit. We would expect the placement to be at least 6 weeks for both the individual and AMG unit to derive benefits from the placement.
We would expect a maximum length of 12 months with a possibility of an extension subject to local HR and tax laws.
The local HR team will acknowledge the application and will communicate the application process for the specific role being advertised. Each AMG unit wlll have their application process. The local HR team and the hiring manager will consider the application and if they are interested they would normally have a short video call for an initial informal chat to consider your suitability. We would expect this to be followed up by a more formal interview. Some units may also request you to complete psychometric / ability based.
This programme is open to all AMG employees that have a minimum service of 12 months and have successfully completed any probationary periods at your current AMG unit. We would also expect that you won’t have any live disciplinary sanctions on record or currently be involved in disciplinary proceedings.
Assistance will be given by the destination AMG unit to organise any necessary work permits, accommodation, local tax registrations and other administrative requirements. However, you are jointly responsible for making the necessary arrangements. Don’t expect the destination AMG unit to do everything.
Each unit we organise a detailed induction for you. We are recommending that the destination AMG unit appoint a colleague to act as a buddy and help you to acclimatise, fit in and be there to help you with any issues that may arise.
However well your exchange is organised issues may happen that could not be foreseen. In these cases you will need to be resilient and with AMG we will sort these.
We would still like you to get in touch with the specific AMG unit using the contact us function on the specific company page. Please send your CV together with a covering letter explaining what you can offer the company but also why you wish to be part of the mobility programme and how it will assist your personal development within AMG.
Language requirements will be specific to each unit. In the first instance please contact the HR team for that unit by using the contact us function on the unit pages on this website. The normal expectation would be that you should either proficient in the local language or English.
For a temporary transfer you would continue to be paid at your normal salary level. If you do believe you will have additional expenses (e.g. temporary accommodation) this would need to be discussed with the HR team at the destination AMG unit when the exchange is being organised.
The unit who will pay your salary will need to be determined after considering the tax regulations of both the current and destination AMG unit and the length of the transfer.
For permanent transfers your employment would be terminated at your current AMG unit. You would then start your employment with the new AMG unit. Salary and benefits would be agreed and paid by the destination team.
We recommend that you advise your manager that you want to or have applied under this programme. By having discussions beforehand this will help you better arrange the transfer and agree a suitable time for the transfer. You will need to highlight the benefits to both you and to the company.
We would encourage employees to be candid with their manager about their application at some stage in the process. By having discussions this will help you better arrange the transfer and agree a suitable time for the transfer. You will need to highlight the benefits to both you and to the company.
